With the rapid advancement of connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technologies, the focus on planning, prioritizing, constructing, maintaining, and operating future transportation infrastructure is increasing. Transportation professionals at the state and local levels are becoming more aware of this growing challenge. To support the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) in this area, MobilityTech recently prepared a document entitled CAV – An Initial Roadmap for New Hampshire. The document provides a brief “state of the practice” of CAV technology, the history of public agency activities, and a summary of current federal issues and policies. The guidance document will assist the NHDOT in preparing an initial roadmap for the planning strategies as well as the infrastructure needs and challenges of future CAV deployment within the state. |
